# Supporting Children, Adolescents, and Families in Franklin, MA

We help children, adolescents and families understand what’s getting in the way — and find a clear path forward. Our team serves Franklin and the surrounding towns, including Medway, Norfolk, Millis, Medfield and Bellingham, and more!

Families reach us at different moments. Some want to stay ahead of a worry, some need answers, and some already know what they’re facing. Start wherever you are.

## Staying ahead of it

For families who would rather check in early than wait and wonder.

### Annual Mental Health Wellness Exam

Insurers are now required to cover an annual mental health wellness exam. It can be done by your pediatrician at the annual physical — but you have the right to seek it from a licensed behavioral health clinician instead.

## Navigating the ordinary hard parts

Parenting support should not be reserved for families already in crisis.

### Parent Coaching

For parents who want to learn best practices for supporting their child’s development. On the very best days parenting can still be exhausting, confusing and overwhelming.

### Primary Prevention Workshops

We believe prevention is the best intervention. Workshops for parents of young children, aimed at lessening the likelihood of future challenges.

## Getting real answers

Assessment establishes what is actually happening — whether a challenge is clinically significant, whether a disability is present, and what would genuinely help.

### Comprehensive Neuropsychological and Educational Evaluations

Our most in-depth service: developmental, psychological and/or neuropsychological testing paired with an educational evaluation, for an in-depth understanding of your child’s performance across domains. Typically around 25 hours of professional time.

 [Read about evaluations](https://kuehnelpsych.com/services/assessment-evaluation/)

### Brief Evaluation (targeted)

When a full evaluation isn’t necessary — for a second opinion, diagnostic clarity, or when extensive testing has already been done elsewhere.

### Educational Evaluation

A thorough educational evaluation to specifically identify a learning disability or monitor progress, where a full neuropsychological evaluation isn’t the right fit.

### Progress Monitoring

Identification isn’t always clear-cut. When results fall in the borderline or at-risk range, waiting years for a follow-up evaluation is unhelpful.

### School or Community Observation

Real-time data on how your child functions in the classroom, preschool, afterschool or extracurricular settings — often the source of the most useful recommendations.

## Support that fits the finding

Treatment built around your child’s specific picture, rather than a generic plan.

### Short-Term Solution Focused Therapy

Currently full

Centred on current circumstances, future hopes and the solutions that move towards them — less focus on past causes, more on progress.

### Behavioral or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Currently full

For challenging behaviour at home, behavioral parent training is highly effective — research suggests that under age 10, parent support can outperform individual therapy.

### Family Therapy without the Child Present

A dedicated opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn evidence-based strategies that support their child’s development and improve overall family functioning, in a safe, private space – all without the child present.

### Educational Consultation

For families asking whether testing is warranted, or whether school is providing the most appropriate services.
