About Me

Hi! My name is Magan Sherwood.

Neuropsychology Fellow

I am currently completing my fellowship at Kuehnel Psychological Services, PLLC. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with children and their families to provide behavioral, social-emotional, and learning supports in a variety of settings. Additionally, I have received extensive training in neuropsychological evaluations over the last few years. I am thrilled to be at KPS and to have the opportunity to learn and grow as a clinician alongside Dr. Kuehnel.

Prior to joining KPS, I received a Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis (ABA). I worked primarily with young children and their families in a variety of settings including schools, homes, and early intervention clinics. I participated in school IEP and team meetings, facilitated parent training sessions, and conducted functional behavior assessments. After working in the field for a few years, I decided to go back to school to receive a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology. Over the last five years, I have received comprehensive training in neuropsychological evaluations in varied settings including the public school system, memory disorder clinic, concussion clinic, and private practice. Most recently, during my pre-doctoral training at the Beacon Assessment Center, I administered neuropsychological assessments to young children (ages 2-5) with suspected autism spectrum disorder. In addition to my neuropsychology training, I have also facilitated individual therapy sessions with elementary-aged students, run social skills groups, and implemented 1:1 behavioral services and interventions with preschool aged children in a center-based facility.

Through the years, I have learned the importance and value of understanding a child through a holistic lens. Specifically, a child’s cultural background, behavior, feelings, family dynamics, peer relationships, and school functioning all play a crucial role in the evaluation process. In addition, highlighting a child’s strengths along with their areas of weakness is important when identifying appropriate individual recommendations and interventions.

Outside of KPS, I enjoy being outdoors, watching football, and spending time on the beach at my family’s condo in Maine. I live in Northborough with my husband, son, and dog, Benji.
