About Me

Hi! My name is Mikkah Weisman.

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

I’m a licensed independent clinical social worker at Kuehnel Psychological Services, PLLC. Over the past 11 years I have been working therapeutically with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings. For the past three years I have been working as a private practice therapist and I am excited to join the team at KPS to focus on children and families. My passion is helping improve the quality of children’s lives including their relationships with their family and look forward to working with your family!

I began my career working for a foster care agency after graduating with a degree in psychology from Boston University. This experience led me to attend graduate school for my Master’s in Social Work through Simmons University. At Simmons I focused my education on the impacts of trauma on children and families, which included internships in an elementary school and an emergency service provider. From working in emergency services I have experience working with a wide range of mental illnesses along with knowledge of the mental health system and services available here in Massachusetts.

I am a firm believer in transparency and enjoy collaborating with clients to better understand their mental health and how to manage unwanted thoughts or feelings. The therapeutic approaches I use most include narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and play therapy. My goal is to work with my clients to identify which approach is most beneficial for them.

For the last two years I have called Franklin home with my husband and son. We enjoy hiking, kayaking, and doing family art projects.
